Ways to Make Your Body More Alkaline
Health begins with helping the body become more alkaline. The acid-alkaline balance is important, since many functions in the body occur only at a certain level of acidity or alkalinity. Most enzymes and chemical reactions in the body work at a particular pH.
Our body’s optimal pH is 7.35, which is slightly alkaline. The alkaline diet is based on making food choices that help your body reach and maintain a balanced pH level so your body can function at its best.
Your metabolism purposes are the conversion of food to energy to run cellular processes; the conversion of food/fuel to building blocks for proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and some carbohydrates; and the elimination of nitrogenous wastes.
The foods you eat when converted leaves an “ash” residue known as metabolic waste. This metabolic waste can be alkaline or acidic.
If you eat foods that leave acidic ash, it makes your blood more acidic. If you eat foods that leave alkaline ash, it makes your blood more alkaline.

Acid forming foods are animal products, sugar, coffee, processed juices, soda drinks and processed foods.
High alkaline foods are leafy green vegetables, root vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, garlic, lemons, cabbage, and herbs.
Lemons, grapefruits and limes metabolize alkaline. Other high-alkaline fruits include avocados and tomatoes. Bananas, pineapples and oranges are also good high-alkaline fruits.
Acidic blood prevents oxygen from reaching cells, which stops cells from functioning properly.
Fruits and vegetables, soybeans, lentils, Lima beans, white beans, tofu, coconuts, nuts, seeds, and legumes are alkaline-promoting foods.
Dairy, eggs, meat, most grains, and processed foods, like canned and packaged snacks and convenience foods, are acid forming.
When your body is more acidic than alkaline, it is more fertile for diseases to develop. The balance between acid and alkaline should be at 7.34 slightly alkaline. You may think that raw organic apple cider vinegar is acidic, it actually becomes alkaline when consumed.
Drinking either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar will raise the pH of your urine because when your body metabolises the apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, they release alkaline minerals like calcium and magnesium.
